"Autumnal" is comprised of two long-form drone compositions which aim to be as dynamic in form and structure as they are peaceful in effect. They were created primarily using guitar and processed vinyl recordings, later supplemented with the violin of Svitlana Samoylenko (of Olan Mill) and arranged/edited on computer.
Despite being our latest release by date, elements of these tracks have existed in some form or another for several years - even back to improvised sessions in 2007 that resulted in our debut self-titled EP. On completion of our first album "Lapses"; we were able once again to focus on this material.
"Autumnal" is also available as a limited pro-dubbed cassette on the Students of Decay label in an edition of 100 copies. It precedes our second album "Forms" which will be released on vinyl LP by Barge Recordings; early in 2012.
Behind its apparent down-to-earth construction, Along The Mantic Spring hides unsuspected details and qualities that will take several listening sessions to reveal.
The stretched guitar sounds, the organ-like layers and the oneiric touches of strings, mixed with an ubiquitous reverberation, turn this release into a warm and regenerative wind coming from the southern lands.
This album has the optimistic and bright aura of the sunrise caressing our skin and waking our senses in an april morning. Dotflac
Incredible landscapes of cinematic drone ambient. Pausal has always been the rolls royce of the genre, and Avifaunal is an other album of heavy and pure excellence. Peter Moesko
